Empire Radio - The Voice of Alternative Broadcasting in Europe

What can we tell you about Empire Radio?
Frankly, not a lot in front of the Authorities of the British Empire,
who will never award us the OBE for our activities.
Instead, we have awarded ourselves the OOBE
(as we have been Ordered Out of the British Empire).

The first broadcast from Empire Radio was made in July 1978.
We believe in providing an honest and responsible
free radio service, and operate a format of mainly
contemporary music presented in our own original style
with the help of comedy extracts and sketches.
Our aim is to be distinctive and entertaining,
producing programmes of compulsive listening.
We do not wish to interfere with any other station,
whether licenced or unlicenced.

Empire Radio appreciates hearing from listeners,
and especially welcomes comments on our programmes.
Thank you for the interest you have shown.
At present, we have no plans for future broadcasts,
but keep listening to the short wave bands
and, one day, maybe you will hear more programmes from
“The Empire!”
